OUR SERVICES
All flats are let unfurnished. Heating is provided, and individual electric fires are also fitted for additional use in some flats. We are responsible for all external decorations and repairs. All flats have a sky communal digital aerial system. All three sites have additional features for residents’ use such as laundries, guest rooms and communal lounges. Pets including dogs may be allowed provided that you first ask for permission in writing. If any pet is subsequently proved to be causing an unreasonable nuisance you will be required to make re-homing arrangements.
Residents on Housing Benefit are welcome and our rent and service charges are within Housing Benefit levels.
BHSE employed Support Officers at our two Southbourne sites
SUPPORT OFFICERS The Support Officers are on site from 9 in the morning until 5 in the evenings. During the week an emergency call service is available when the Support Officers are off site at both of our Southbourne sites and the councils contracted Care & support team is off site at the Craigleith Derby Road site.
SUPPORT OFFICERS DUTIES Making calls on a daily or weekly basis, if required by residents (by personal visits or via the call system which is in place in each flat).
The Support Officers keep a general eye on the well being of all residents helping to arrange social functions and whilst unable to assist with shopping, cleaning or caring, can assist you to stay independent for as long as possible. We normally expect residents to do their own shopping, cooking and cleaning etc.
Support Officers will also liaise with relatives and other professional bodies when residents need extra support. The level of support you need will be discussed and agreed with you shortly after moving in and will be regularly reviewed.

EMERGENCY CALL SYSTEM All flats have ‘Tunstall Telecom’ call points and you will be supplied with a pendant which can be used to summon help in an emergency 24 hours, 7 days a week. BHSE will explain how to use this when you first move in.
RESIDENT PARTICIPATION We welcome residents' views on the service we provide and offer ample opportunities for involvement and consultation.
SOCIAL EVENTS All three sites sites have plentiful opportunities for a variety of social events, organised by residents and with the support of staff. How much you join in is entirely up to you but you will find a warm welcome, fun, variety, laughter, caring neighbours and friends if you do!
